2023 Year in Review from Board President Mary Vanden Brook

2023 Year in Review

As President of the MARC Board of Directors in 2023, I witnessed a year filled with hard work and dedication from our Executive Director, the Business Office, and all the MARC staff who work directly with our clients throughout the Keys.  Board members rolled up their sleeves as well to support many fundraising activities, and opened their wallets to contribute financially.   This year, we were able to breathe new life into our Membership roster, and see this effort as a continuing revenue source, as well as a way to increase community interest in MARC.

Over the course of the year, Adult Day Training Programs were thoughtfully re-designed as required by State regulations.  This was a transformation of sorts.  Now, clients receive life skills training, and proper nutrition in our activity centers.  A major shift in normal operations, but Diana’s leadership ensured that clients’ needs came first.

MARC clients and staff have always felt like a big family.   When we encounter our clients in the Keys community, whether they are working, participating in dance projects, or the Don Moore Memorial Grunt fishing tournament, they are as happy to see us as we are to see them.   MARC clients are our neighbors and friends, and help make the Keys the best place to be!
