Supported Employment Mobile Work Crew Coach              Supported Employment Group (FT Key West)

The Supported Employment Mobile Work Crew Coach will be responsible for development and implementation of a Supported Employment strategy which includes leading the SE mobile work crew during outdoor projects, while training clients in light landscaping tasks. This position is also responsible for client assessment, job development and analysis, client-job matching, job placement and job-related training on and off the worksite; advocacy such as facilitating positive social interaction with co-workers and supervision, and any miscellaneous training and/or counseling. The SE Mobile Work Crew Coach will document all phases of client development, including assessment, current level of functioning, training goals and progress reports.

Wherever possible the job coach will use a self-directed approach including the client in choosing vocational alternatives.

Specific Duties:

·       Work outdoors periodically in order to train in specific tasks such as watering, possibly light pruning, sweeping, use of leaf blower, possible fertilizing and hauling debris.

  • Develop and perform situational assessments augmented by clinical/paper assessments to determine realistic vocational goal setting. Situational assessments should be performed in-house if appropriate or in community-based settings that provide realistic experience upon which appropriate vocational choices can be made and eventual training needs determined.

  • After vocational goals and training needs have been established, provide one-on-one job coaching in the employment setting where placement is anticipated, where feasible.

  • If training needs require an extended work habit development or work adjustment training period, workshop-based W.A.T. must include some community-based activity that will further support employment goals.

  • Develop a fading strategy, which includes the job coach, client, and employer, which will allow the job coach to withdraw, gradually, from the job site while providing support levels that will ensure smooth transition.

  • Provide ongoing support to the client and employer to deal with any change in job descriptions or the job itself.

  • Develop independent transportation opportunities as needed for successful placement.

  • Coordinate scheduling, medical needs, parental contacts and other assessment and/or placement needs with other MARC staff and Vocational Rehabilitation contact where needed.

  • Attending workshop staff meetings.

  • Maintain a documented caseload of Supported Employment clients utilizing current guidelines generated by Children & Families and/or VR.

  • Generate timely reports and contact sheets for internal, Children & Families or VR purposes.

  • Annual ESP written within 30 days of Support Plan effective date.

  • Attending agency functions as required by supervisor.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in related field, or 4 years of experience with developmentally disabled individuals; a combination of formal education and experience are accepted; good computer skills utilizing multiple applications, Florida Driver’s License with a clean driving record required, English language (speaking and writing proficiency is a must). Pre-hire coursework is required and ability to pass a Level 2 background screening. EOE.

This is an in-person position. All candidates must have secured housing within a commutable distance to Key West, FL before applying. 

Group Home Staff/Caregivers - Part-Time Weekends (Key West)

This position is available at our Windsor Lane Group Home - 20 hours per week: Saturday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. This position provides direct care services and support to our clients in their home. This position requires work on holidays. This position requires the minimum of high school completion or GED and 1 year of experience with care giving or 30 hours or college coursework. English language, speaking and writing, proficiency is a must. Must have a valid FL driver's license with a clean driving record. Pre-hire coursework is required and ability to pass a Level II background check. EOE
