Change in Leadership at MARC!

Change in Leadership at MARC

After 40 years of extraordinary service and commitment to the MARC organization, clients, families and the Keys community, Diana Flenard is announcing her retirement.  She began her work at MARC in 1984 as a trainer in the Adult Training Program.  She moved on to serve as the Curriculum Coordinator, the Workshop Manager, and in 1987, she became the Client Services Coordinator.  In this role, she handed all medical, dental, and psychiatric services, as well as the Curriculum for all areas and programs.  Following the death of Don Moore in 1999, Diana became the Executive Director of MARC.  She has served the MARC family with skill, devotion, and unwavering dedication.  The MARC Board is indebted to her, and with heavy hearts, wish her a wonderful well-deserved retirement.  Diana has graciously offered to help in the transition to new leadership at MARC, to ensure continuity of services, and to pass on her considerable institutional knowledge.

After a nationwide search, the MARC Board has unanimously decided to hire Mr. Clinton Bower as Executive Director.  Mr. Bower has a degree in Professional Administration, and most recently served as Executive Director of WATCH Resources in Tuolumne, CA, a non-profit serving adults with intellectual disabilities.  Prior to this work, Mr. Bower was the President and CEO of MACtown, Inc., in Miami.  He held this position from 2006 until 2022.  MACtown, like MARC, serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and offers life skills training, behavioral programs, and residential programs and support.  In addition, Mr. Bower worked for the United Cerebral Palsy Association of South Florida, where he developed and built Independent Living facilities in Florida and Georgia.  The Board is happy to have Clint Bower join the MARC family, and welcomes him to the Keys.  He will start effective July 1, 2024.
