MARC Celebrates 60 Years in Style at Annual Board Meeting & Anniversary Celebration

MARC celebrated in style on Tuesday, October 13th, at the HOB Cafetorium during our Annual Board Meeting and 60th Anniversary Celebration. It was a night filled with food, music, laughter, awards, photos, dancing, and plenty of ReMARCable memories!

A huge thank you to Opal Resort & Marina for generously donating 150 meals for our celebration. Your support helped make the evening extra special for our clients, staff, board members, and guests.

The celebration also featured live music from Justin Angelo, who generously donated his time and talent to keep everyone entertained. Our clients had such a great time that they are still talking about the celebration!

📸 Memories were made at the selfie station provided by KeyHaw, where guests could take both digital and printed photos to capture the evening. The selfie station was generously sponsored by Florida Community Care.

The room was decorated with beach balls, beautiful flowers made by our clients, and lots of love from the MARC community. Every detail helped create a fun and welcoming atmosphere for our 60th Anniversary celebration.

One of the highlights of the evening was recognizing the accomplishments and dedication of our clients and staff. Awards were presented by our fearless leader, Executive Director Jeffrey Mann.

Imogene Synon Volunteer of the Year Award

The Imogene Synon Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Kyla of Dance Key West for her longtime dedication to MARC.

Kyla has been involved with MARC for many years through the annual ReMARCable Dance Project, held at The Studios of Key West. She generously volunteers countless hours of her time, energy, and talent working with our ReMARCable clients and helping them express themselves creatively through dance. Her commitment to our clients and to creating opportunities for inclusion and self-expression makes this award truly well-deserved.

Don Moore Memorial Excellence Award

The evening’s highest honor, the Don Moore Memorial Excellence Award, was presented to Davida in recognition of her incredible 30+ years of service with MARC. We are incredibly grateful for the dedication, compassion, and commitment that Davida has given to MARC and the individuals we serve over more than three decades.

A New Chapter for the MARC Board

The evening also marked a transition for the MARC Board of Directors. We bid a fond farewell to four board members who have termed out, thanking them for their service, dedication, and commitment to MARC.

At the same time, we were excited to welcome five new board members to the MARC family as we begin this next chapter.

From the delicious food and live music to the awards, photos, dancing, and celebration, it truly was a ReMARCable night.
