Phillip receives the Keep Key West Beautiful award! Way to go!

Today we proudly celebrate Phillip, who was nominated for and received the Keep Key West Beautiful Award during the City Commission meeting at City Hall! 🎉

Phillip was presented with a commemorative pin by the Mayor and the President of the Chamber, surrounded by friends and family who came together to celebrate this well-deserved recognition.

The Key West Chamber of Commerce and the City of Key West’s “Keep Key West Beautiful” program recently launched the “Business Pride, People Proud” initiative. The purpose of the program is to highlight businesses that go above and beyond with their appearance, while also recognizing employees who provide exceptional customer service — and Phillip is the perfect example of what this program represents.

Phillip’s nomination perfectly captures why he means so much to our community:

“Stopping at a gas station seems like a normal part of anyone's day, but over the years, stopping at the Chevron on White Street has become something I genuinely look forward to.

I always go out of my way to go there, and it is all because of Phillip.

From the very first time I met him, he greeted me with his big smile and asked my name. The next time I came in, he remembered me and everything we talked about. Now, every time I go, I get to catch up with a friend.

Usually, he will even come outside while I am pumping gas just so we can keep the conversation going. It's a simple thing, but it means a lot. In a world where interactions can be quick and forgettable, Phillip makes each one memorable.

And it's not just me — every time his name comes up, it's because someone else is saying the same thing.

Phillip brings a kindness and positivity that you don't come across all the time. He can make anyone's day better just by being himself.

Stopping by the Chevron is often one of my favorite highlights of the day because of him. He truly makes a difference in our community, and I can't think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.”
