Welcome 2026!—a note from Mary VandenBrook, MARC Board President
WELCOME 2026
We enter this year with a new Executive Director for MARC, Jeffrey Mann. Many thanks to Diana Flenard for coming out of retirement to ease the transition, and to ensure that Jeffery starts out on the best footing. Jeffery is well known to MARC, its clients, and their families as he served previously as Residential Program Manager, and ADT Manager. The Board of Directors values his commitment to MARC and supports his leadership and vision.
The year ahead will bring renewed focus on fundraising, as MARC suffered a significant loss of over $100,000 in anticipated County funding in 2025. Some of the fundraising activities for the New Year include participation in the Rum Festival, a new Aquaponics project, and the traditional Pumpkin Patch, Tour de Keys Bike Ride, Tabletop Tree Auction, and Christmas tree sales.
2026 will undoubtedly present challenges. As President of the Board, I am pleased to report that the overall financial health of the Agency is strong. I am excited to work with a group of Board members who are committed to MARC and to resolving problems as they arise. And, for over 55 years, MARC has earned an excellent reputation for serving our clients and their families. Through the efforts of MARC staff and the Board, the Agency continues to enjoy unwavering Community support. The New Year should be one of promise and growth!
—Mary VandenBrook, President MARC Board of Directors
